Waste Minimisation Grants
In line with our Waste Management and Minimisation Plan, Nelson City Council has a range of waste minimisation grants available to our community. All activities are assessed against the waste hierarchy:
Assessment criteria are provided for each programme. As a general principle, priority will be given to projects which demonstrate the following:
- Avoid or reduce the creation of waste in our region
- Close the loop on resources that would otherwise be wasted (circular economy)
- Outline how Te Ao Māori values are incorporated
Applications are reviewed by a panel of officers with specialist experience.
