Warmer Kiwi Homes programme expanded and extended

Nelson City Council has proudly supported the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme since 2014 and we are happy to see that it has been expanded and extended until 2027. 

The aim is to assist homeowners and community members most in need to improve the insulation, heating effectiveness, and overall energy efficiency of their homes, while also improving health and reducing emissions through lower electricity consumption. There are still many eligible homes in the Nelson area, so we encourage everyone to see if they qualify.

New Climate Change Advisory Group

A new Climate Change Advisory Group will work closely with Nelson City Council and community organisations to set the direction for Council's climate change strategy. The strategy will provide a clear vision and long-term objectives to ensure investment is targeted towards projects that will have the greatest impact, and the Group will help to guide priority areas for action by Council and the community.

The Emissions Reduction Plan and us
