Oil Spills

Nelson City Council has responsibility for responding to reported marine oil spills within our waters.

If you see, or are involved in causing an oil spill you must report the spill immediately on the 24-hour number 0800 NO POLLUTE or 03 546 0200

Please attempt to gather as much information as possible including photos, specific location, type of spill, quantity to assist in our response.
