Nelson Tasman Regional Arts Strategy
Draft strategy underway
Extensive consultation has been undertaken to gather the views of the public and the local arts community on the key issues for the Regional Arts Strategy. To date there have been 11 workshops; 1 hui; regional visits to Golden Bay, Motueka, St Arnaud, Murchison and Wakefield; 50+ meetings with interested groups and individuals; and 158 submissions to the public consultation that closed on 29 June 2008.
Information gathered from the consultations is now being used in the preparation of a first draft of the strategy. Nelson and Tasman residents will have a further opportunity to input to the strategy when the draft is released for public submissions towards the end of the year. The strategy, which will guide the development of the arts sector in the region over the next decade, should be finalised early in the new year.
