The Tasman District Council has given indication they may withdraw from the Corridor Study consultation. The Nelson City Council met Thursday 16 August to discuss this possible action.

Final Stage Two report released

The Corridor Study project team has released the Stage Two Consultation Findings, and is currently developing a preferred strategy.

474 submissions were received; 447 from individuals and 27 from organisations. The overall preferred approach was for Package D: Enhanced Roading Improvements.

The route along the old railway corridor from Beatsons Rd to Victory Square (southern link) was favoured by the majority of respondents, and there was widespread opposition to associated widening of Waimea and Rocks Rd.
