Applying for employment

Nelson City Council's new eRecruitment system allows you to look at the position information of currently advertised positions and apply online.

How the site works

If you have visited the Nelson City Council jobs site before, you will notice changes to the jobs and recruitment function as we implement our new eRecruitment system to offer easy and direct access to current job opportunities at Council.

We welcome any feedback on the new eRecruitment website. Please email us if you have suggestions on the site.

In the eRecruitment system you are able to directly view all details and apply online for the positions that interest you.

Using eRecruitment you may:

  • View a summary of all currently advertised positions.
  • View, download and print full job descriptions.
  • Register to apply online, attaching a personal 'profile,' letter and curriculum vitae. Please be sure to read the position description before applying.
  • Email questions to Human Resources.

Application

Your application will include a file containing your supporting information and a completed online application form. The following information will help you present your application.

  • All applicants must be New Zealand residents or hold an appropriate New Zealand work permit.
  • You must be able to sit for an immediate interview.
  • The information collected is for the purpose of assessing your suitability for employment with Nelson City Council (which may include any subsequent changes in employment within the organisation). The deliberations and evaluative material are confidential to the Council and its agents.
